Medication Assisted Therapy

Utilizing medication for the management of symptoms is discussed during the initial visit with our Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.  Blue Skies Psychological Services supports each individual’s personal decision to utilize medications, or to address their issues strictly by attending therapy sessions without using medicine.

Our philosophy is that medication is an effective tool in one’s treatment but should not be considered a solution or “a quick fix” to one’s problems in life.  We encourage people who opt to use medication to do so in conjunction with behavioral psychotherapy.  Most people who seek treatment for mental or emotional health symptoms require combined treatment to facilitate the change(s) necessary for an improvement in quality of life.  

At Blue Skies, we offer medication management services to people who are currently in treatment with a psychotherapist (we DO NOT require that you see a Blue Skies therapist to receive medication appointments).  

Blue Skies Psychological Services also offers medication management services through Telehealth (video chat) when deemed appropriate.      

Our medication management services are provided by a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
